Check out a Learning and Evaluation Situation for the Grade 8 Proportional Situations unit that I made with two McGill colleagues!

The School Scale Model LES (5 Mb)

The LES comprises of a complex task which asks the students to build a scale model of their school, from start (measuring the dimensions of the school) to finish (constructing the model and reflecting in writing). It also builds up students’ knowledge before the complex task in the area of proportional situations: ratios, rates, proportions and scale factors.
